I first met Errol in September, 1957, when my family moved from Texas to Harvey, Louisiana, where he and I were in school at West Jefferson High School. I was sitting next to Errol in chemistry class, and he told me that his band (then called the "Aristocats") would be playing in our auditorium that week. When I sat in the auditorium and the curtain was drawn, there he was, singing rock and roll with his tremendous band, which later merged into the "Esquires." He was so talented! He and I were officers in the school's student council, we both attended LSU, were both in the Air Force ROTC and entered the service at Lieutenants. I served in Vietnam and later became an attorney for the Veterans Administration in Denver. Errol inspired me to learn to play the piano, and I've been a part time musician for many years. My best wishes to Errol's family.
