Obituary of Paul D. Hardin
Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paul Doolittle Hardin, 63, of Madison, MS went home to Jesus on Monday, September 16, 2024. Paul was a committed follower of Christ living out Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” In addition to the gift of salvation, Paul’s greatest earthly treasures were his loving and caring family, especially his 3 grandchildren. He adored them! Paul was devoted to his family and friends. He was a talented musician, respected appraiser and real estate professional, and he enjoyed all things Mississippi State University.
Paul was born July 26, 1961, to Sammie and Charles Hardin of Calhoun City, Mississippi. He received his B.S. degree from MSU in Agriculture Engineering Technology and Business. Paul retired from the USDA Farm Service Agency after 33 years of service. Paul had his own appraisal/real estate broker business for 30 years. He has served on the board of the Mississippi Association of Realtors and the Mississippi Coalition of Appraisers. Paul’s work ethic and determination was an example to everyone that knew him. He once said, “Never focus on disability but always on ability. Where there’s a will, there’s a way! You are your own limitation. Use your God given talents!”
Paul was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison where over the years he served as a deacon, sang in the choir and in quartets, and played trumpet in the orchestra. Paul is survived by his caring wife, Leesa Hollowell Hardin; daughter Holly Spencer (Grant) of Athens, AL; son Josh Hardin (Anna) of Madison, MS; father Charles Hardin of Calhoun City, MS; brother Carey Hardin (Bonnie) of Starkville, MS; sister Laura Hardin of Florence, AL; mother-in-law Mary Hollowell of Oxford, MS; brother-in-law Rex Hollowell (Linda) of Oxford, MS; grandchildren, Emmy Spencer, Hardin Spencer, Wesley Hardin, and baby girl Hardin due April 2025. Paul is also survived by a loving and supportive extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Sammie Doolittle Hardin and his father-in-law James Hollowell. Paul enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Marlee and Minnie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Madison.
