Janice Kay Pearson Janice Kay Pearson, 82, passed away on Friday December 1, 2023, at the Mississippi Care Center of Morton. Janice was born on June 21, 1941, in Kansas. She married Willie Pearson and moved to Madison County, Mississippi and became a longtime resident. She took great pride in raising her children. She loved them wholeheartedly and bent over backwards to give them everything in life. She was a strong woman with a strong work ethic. Janice’s favorite pastime was reading. She especially enjoyed reading Amish books. After suffering a stroke in July of 2020, Janice became a resident of Mississippi Care Center of Morton. The family is forever grateful for the excellent care she received from the staff especially the CNA’s. Janice passed away peacefully surrounded by family and staff members who loved and prayed over her. Janice is survived by her daughters Brenda Smith (Bobby) and Kim Davis (Misty) and her son Terry Pearson, her sisters Jolene Burrow, Donna Neal, Judy Hurla, Diane Modrcin, Jackie Cooper, Karen Rohrich and Karla Martwich. She is also survived by granddaughter Allison Smith Heimer and great granddaughter Nicole Heimer and 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Willie, her parents Lewis Carroll and Dolores Stafford, her brothers Bill Stafford and Joseph Collins, her sister Carol Burghart and her granddaughter Angela Smith.
