Margie Ann Summerlin, 80, of Madison, passed away on November 20, 2023 at St. Dominic's Hospital. Margie was born on December 26, 1942 in Ethel, MS and was the daughter of Samuel Burns and Retta Sims Burns. She married Sidney Summerlin and they had three sons. Her family moved to Madison in 1975 and where she raised her family. Margie described herself as a self taught Domestic Engineer. She could cook, sew, and do whatever was needed. She had a wonderful personality and made everyone she encountered feel like an old friend. She was an artist and author, having traced back the family roots to the 1500's and created a hard back book of more than 500 pages of family heritage. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Sidney Summerlin. She is survived by her children, Sid Summerlin, Keith Summerlin, and Jason Summerlin (Kimberly)' grandchildren, Ashley Marie Summerlin, Bryce Jacob Summerlin, Justin Ross Summerlin, and Sybil Rachel Summerlin. Visitation will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Friday November 24, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a chapel service to follow. Interment will be in Jessamine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
