Walter Guy McGarity, age 82, died November 14, 2023. Guy was born October 10, 1941 in Dawson, Georgia. The son of James McGarity and Mary Frances Mackey McGarity, Guy was the middle child of seven. He was a humble and loving human being and was a spiritual, good, Christian person. Guy's life centered around golf, golf, and more golf. He was a charter member of Dancing Rabbit Country Club and a member of Deerfield Country Club since 1981.
Guy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty McGarity, daughter, Donna Weatherwax (Larry) of Denver, CO; step sons, John Harless (Sage) of Denver, CO and Christopher Harless (Jana) of Ridgeland, MS; sister, Alice Faye Milner (Marcus) of Morristown, TN and brother, Robert McGarity (Diane) of Lillian, AL; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
