Marion B. Truitt, age 84, passed away on September 24, 2023. He was born on November 3, 1938, to Mr. Eris Elvin Truitt and Miss Eltha Spruill.
Marion was a NASCAR enthusiast traveling to racetracks around the south. He also enjoyed stock car racing around the metro. He was a flagman at the track in Clinton for a season. His biggest notoriety came from him being a corporate pilot working for such companies as Key Constructor's, Bill's Dollar Store, and Ramada Inn. Also, having flown from North and Central America throughout his tenure as a pilot. Marion has been a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church since 1990, where he served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Ushers, and in Missions. He went to Nicaragua with a medical mission team five years in a row.
Marion is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda Truitt; sister-in-law, Cathy (Walter) Guess, sister-in-law, Earline Eldridge; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Shelia) Whittington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Truitt is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eris Elvin Truitt, Jr.
A public visitation will commence between 10am - 11am on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home (759 Hwy 51, Madison, MS 39110) with a Celebration of Life service to follow.
