Robert Drop, 82 of Canton, MS passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 after a lengthy illness. Born April 5, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of John and Helen (Churilla) Drop. He was a long time resident of Belvidere, Illinois where he and his wife Margarett (Randolph) raised their family and were beloved members of the community. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Robert met and married Margarett, the love of his life, in 1961, while stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. Survivors include sons, Mike (Wendy) of Bloomington, Illinois and Brian (Joan) of Belvidere, Illinois; daughter Tonja (David) Johnson of Canton, Mississippi; grandchildren, Lauren Drop, Will (Christyna) Drop, Rob Drop, Madolyn (Jared) Elmer, Hank Johnson and Ned Johnson; great-grandchildren Scarlett Drop and Emery Elmer; brother Ron (Margie) Drop of Valencia, PA. Preceded by his wife, parents, and sister Dolly. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 23 at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, 3025 Pleasant Hill Road, Prospect, TN 38477.
