John Thomas Miksa July 15, 1959 - June 22, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Thomas Miksa after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease which he handled with grace and dignity. He was a beloved father, grandfather and loyal friend, who departed this world on June 22, 2023. John will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind gentle soul with a great sense of humor and his unwavering commitment to being a wonderful father and a patient teacher to his children. John was born on July 15, 1959, in Jackson MS, to Benjamin and Mary Miksa, who precede him in death. John pursued his education at Mississippi State University and later achieved his Bachelor’s degree in Geology. He had a passion for guitars, hunting, fishing, four-wheeler riding, camping, boating, and grilling out. John is survived by his daughter, Ashley Miksa; son, John Michael Miksa; grandchildren, John Maddox Harris and John Beckham Miksa; siblings, Andrea Miksa McCarthy, Mark Miksa, and Corinne Barbieri and her husband Rocco; and mother of his children, Lori Miksa. He is also survived by a niece and six nephews. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his loved ones. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. The memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Thursday June 29, 2023, at 11:00am at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am.
