Leaman Lloyd Bennett, Sr., 95, of Madison, passed away on June 21, 2023, at the Nichols Center in Madison, MS. Visitation will be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Saturday June 24, 2023, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with the memorial service to follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Leaman was born on July 28, 1927, to Willard and Inez Foil Bennett in Darbun, Mississippi. He was a member and trustee of Fannin United Methodist Church and retired as a Foreman with Mississippi Power and Light (Entergy). Leaman is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Bennett of Madison, MS; sons, Leaman Lloyd Bennett, Jr. of Madison, MS, David Eugene Bennett, of Montgomery, TX, and James Steven Bennett of Greenville, MS; brother, Homer Bennett; seven grandchildren, Stacey Fears, April Chappell, Amanda Dodds, Meredith Young, Morgan Bennett, Mary Herndon, and Christina Bennett; seven great grandchildren, Bailey Stanton, Carson Stanton, Samantha Dodds, Gavin Dodds, Elliot Fears, Ellington Young, and Remi Herndon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Tynes Bennett; father, Willard Bennett; mother, Inez Foil Bennett; sisters, Wilda Russell, Alyne Burton, Evelyn Lopez, and Laverne McCloud, and brothers, Winford Bennett, Edward Bennett, and Clyde Bennett.
