Danny Joe Cook, lovingly known to his family and friends as Joe, was born on September 4, 1954, in Pascagoula, MS, and entered into his heavenly home on April 15, 2023. He was an avid writer creating animated stories about critters he saw in his backyard and about his sidekick Shiva. He also enjoyed reading and writing historical nonfiction. Finally, Joe was a dedicated Alabama football fan. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Joe Cook and Ella “Susie” Dunn. He is survived by his son Adam Cook (Diana) and daughter Lindsay Walls (Hal); his grandchildren Maelyn, Liam, and Andrew; brother Tim Cook (Virginia) and their son Jason; sister Suzette Necaise (Scott) and their daughter Dakota; and sister Donor Skrnich (Kurt). Joe was also survived by Barbara Stampley, who was married to Joe for 10 years; stepson Matt (Melissa); stepdaughter Jennifer Sebren (Chad); and grandchildren Aly, Paige, and Jacob. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2023, at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, 759 Highway 51, Madison, MS 39110.
