Joey and I live so far away. We try to see everyone we can when we come to the south. We didn't see much of Shirley but we still loved her dearly. I remember her when she was much younger.

I will always remember her Smile, and Laugh, she was always happy to be around! I know it had been a long time since we really got to hang out but I would run into her from time to time and she was always, always smiling and happy telling me about Chris and Abbey and the grand babies ! She was so proud of her family !!! She was beautiful inside and out! Will always love you girl!!! Keep daddy and Howard in line for me till I get there!!! Miss you all!!!!

I will miss that no matter what I wanted or needed for us to do Shirlee was always "all in."
I will miss this certain, special smile that she had & when I saw it I instantly knew that it was only meant for me.

I see you here as if you are staring to the heavens, imagining what it will be like when you get there & when it will be your turn to go.
I sit here selfishly wishing that your time to go has not yet come. I do not want you to worry about me; I will be fine. I have so many memories of Shirlee. Some are bad but so many good ones. How many times she had my back when I needed her. Oh the luck of being the baby brother. No one ever messed with me because my sisters had my back. Shirlee on several occasions threatened to kill over me and would have. If she loved you she showed it. My sisters and I took our mom to NOLA for her birthday one year. Mom wanted to go on a dinner cruise so we went. There was a lady who had on a big rimmed hat and Shirlee set her sights on it and before the end of the boat ride the lady had given her the hat because she said it looked better on shirlee then it did her. Later that night we went to Bourbon St. where shirlee and my oldest sister set out on the balcony of a bar laughing and joking with people on Bourbon walking past. She once again made friends. The two people walked with us from one end of Bourbon St. to the other end laughing and caring on with Shirlee. Once we got to the hotel Shirlee and our oldest sister decided they were playing hide and seek on our floor of the hotel. Our middle sister and I had to find them because Momma said we had to. It was a fun time and two things for sure if Shirlee set her mind to something she did it and she never met a stranger. I’m going to miss her laugh. Rest on my beautiful sister we will be there in due time and we are gona have a party. I love ya and miss you already!!!!

Q: What will you miss most about Shirlee?
A: Our talks. She used to call me and talk for an hour or more. I had just spent 30 to 45 minutes with her on FaceTime the day before she left us. I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around this. I feel like this isn’t real, it’s just a dream that I need to wake up from.
