Obituary of Frederick Fitzgerald Arrington

Our Frederick was born on June 21, 1965 to Anne Arrington Cooley in Laurel, Jones county.  Frederick was baptized at Mount Olive M.B. church of Mount Olive Community.  Frederick  graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1984.  Upon completing high school, Frederick enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge.  From Southern University, he went on to active duty with the United States army as a unit Supply Specialist (92Y).  During his 24 Year Career he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class, he served at Ft Polk Louisiana, Ft Carson, Colorado, 2 tours in Korea, 2 tours in Germany, Ft Campbell Kentucky, and Ft Knox, Kentucky.  His combat deployments include Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, and

2 campaigns in Iraq.

Accolades he received for his leadership and dedication in service includes

2 Meritorious Service awards, 4 Army Commendation Medals, 3 Army Achievement Medals, 9 Army Good Conduct Awards, 2 National Defense Service Medals, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Kosovo Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Korean Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Humanitarian Service  3 Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, 3 Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbons, 2 Nato Medals,1 Pathfinder Badges,  Driver and Mechanic, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge.

 

Frederick departed this life on Sunday January 7th. He Leaves to mourn his wife, Ayaan Arrington,  sons Devonte’ Arrington, Devin Arrington and David Williams, daughter Shaniqua Arrington.  Mother Anne Arrington- Cooley.  Daughter-In-Law Ke’Alohi O Kahoku Arrington, grandson Ky’Ju Makamae Le’la Arrington, granddaughter Meli’ana Ka’ Pua Ka’ Lani Arrington. Brother Nataska “Nick” Chapman, sisters Yolanda (Russell) Coleman, Jacqueline Arrington.  Special aunt Charlene DeanArrington, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins, In-Laws, and friends
