Joseph Pomeroy Nourse Goodell, 87, passed away on February 10, 2023. He was born on October 5, 1935, to Colonel Frank Quincy Goodell and Barbara Nourse Goodell in Washington State. He earned two Engineering degrees, a Bachelor’s from Stanford University and a Master’s from Rice University. He enjoyed a long career as an engineer working for Fairchild Semiconductor in the Northern California Bay Area, for Raymond Corporation in upstate New York, and for Boeing in Southern California. After raising his family in Orange County, California, Joseph retired in 2006 to Madison, Mississippi where he resided at St. Catherine's Village. He loved to travel all over his newly adopted and beloved State, was very active in the local community and made numerous friendships. Joseph is survived by son, Matthew Goodell of Orange County, CA; daughter, Raegan Goodell Kail; son-in-law, Michael Kail; grandsons, Ethan and Dylan Kail; former spouse, Sue Ellen Goodell; and brother Peter Goodell, all of the Northern California Bay Area. A private service will be held at a later date.
