Obituary of Mary A. Metcalfe

Mary Alice Russell Webb Metcalfe joined her savior January 5, 2018. She was born in Oxford, MS, the daughter of Dr. A.E. Russell and Clara Marie Graves. She was a graduate of Ole Miss, a Chi Omega. She married Thomas Ed Webb and had two daughters. After his passing in 1979 she married Henry V. Metcalfe. She was an author of two novels, a columnist for the Madison County Journal, taught Sunday School for over 35 years, avid bridge player, and was the first female President of the Knife and Fork Club. She ministered to many and was much loved by her friends.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren; daughter, Lisa Owens (Bill) and their daughters Sarah Grace Evans and Mary Lisa Fuentes; daughter, Mary Anne Gill (Buddy) and their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Gill; step son, Les Metcalfe (Laurie) and six great grandchildren..

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with a service to follow in the chapel at 2:00pm. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
