Leland Lamar Hennington, age 57, of Jackson was born April 22, 1965. He was a native of Vicksburg, MS and the son of Walter and Edith Cowart Hennington. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and Mississippi State University where he acquired his Masters degree. He was a professional engineer who consulted and worked with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Leland designed and engineered the bridges in Ocean Springs and Bay St. Louis after Hurricane Katrina. Leland was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison, a Jeep enthusiast and member of 1941 MS Misfits. Leland was preceded in death by his parents. Leland is survived by his wife, Kathy Hennington; daughter, Patti Hennington Kallinikos; son, Davis Hennington; a son acquired later in life, Robby Montgomery; brother, Gary Hennington; grandchildren, Theodore Kallinikos, Jacob Kallinikos, Sophia Kallinikos, and Victoria Kallinikos; son-in-law, Matthew Kallinikos; sisters-in-law, Tracy Hennington and Leanne Squires; and 1 niece and 3 nephews. Visitation is Friday November 11, 2022 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home from 11:00am until 1:00pm with a funeral service in the chapel at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Leland would ask that you make donations to M.O.R.A. or honor him by becoming an organ donor.
