Mary A. Garrity Ridgeland Mary Ann Garrity, 83, of Ridgeland, passed away on October 24, 2022. She was born on February 8, 1939 to Ann and Louis Lebda in Illinois. Mary Ann was married to Edward G. Garrity on August 9, 1958. She received a PhD in psychology, was a writer and educator, and worked as deputy director for ETV. She was strong, fun-loving, dedicated to and cherished her family, and loved the beach. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mary is survived by her daughters, Lynn Traxler (Kevin) and Cathy Rogers (Troy); grandchildren, Jennifer Weaver (Caleb), Rachel Centeno (James), David Stribling, Justin Elliott (Sarah), Amie Elliott, JAred Russell, Sarah Russell, and Thomas Traxler; eight great grandchildren; sister, Janet Beckley; and brothers, James Lebda and Robert Lebda. Mrs. Garrity was preceded in death by her son, Michael Garrity, husband, parents, and sister, Sylvia Armitage. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. A funeral mass will follow at 3:00pm with burial in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
