Jane Wilkerson Brandon, MS Jane Cathey Wilkerson passed away on October 22, 2022, after a courageous and hard fight with lung cancer. She was born on November 23, 1942, to James and Mildred Cathey. She grew up in Vicksburg and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. She attended the University of Mississippi, and was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She was married to Charles W. Wilkerson, Jr. They had three children. She was a stay at home mom while her children were young, and she cherished every moment of that. She later worked at Woodland Hills Academy, John Hancock, and Dermatopathology Associates. She retired in October 2013. Her greatest joy was her entire family. She loved them all. She enjoyed traveling with her Sunday School and Bridge friends. She was a member of St. Marks Methodist Church and the Women with Faith Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player. She loved her exercise group, especially socializing with her good friends, and their Friday lunches. She loved watching Ole Miss sports. She watched many of the games with her dear friend, Ann Tolbert. She was a woman of integrity, strength and humbleness. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She is preceded in death by her former husband, Charles W. Wilkerson, Jr., her parents James and Mildred Cathey, and her sister Judy C. Davidson. She is survived by her three children, Lisa (Jesse) Browning, Lory (Joey) Smiley, and Charles (Gloria) Wilkerson, III., grandchildren Lauren (Jim) Rabalais, Elliott Browning, Mallory (Chris) Vance, Meredith Sowell, William (Nicole) Nicholson, Kayla (Brandon) Clark, and great grandchildren. There will be an evening visitation from 5pm - 7pm on Monday, October 24 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, 759 Hwy 51, Madison, Ms 39110. A funeral service celebrating the life of Ms. Wilkerson will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 starting at 11am with an hour visitation prior at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 400 Grants Ferry Rd, Brandon, Ms 39047. Afterwards, a procession will take place to Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 400 Grants Ferry Road, Brandon, MS, or a charity of your choice. We appreciate all the wonderful people who helped us all through this journey. We will forever be grateful.
