Bonnie G. Ross, 87, of Ridgeland, MS, passed away on August 29, 2022 at UMMC in Jackson, MS.
Bonnie was born on February 15, 1935 to Floyd and Leura Jolly in Leake County, MS. She married Horace M. Ross and together they had two children. They enjoyed traveling and volunteering their time with Campers on Mission. They were able to see all of the United States with the exception of Alaska. She was instrumental in the development of Central Hills Campground in Kosciusko, MS and is credited with naming Friendship Park in Ridgeland, MS. Mrs. Ross was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Ross was a member of Trace Ridge Baptist Church in Ridgeland.
Mrs. Ross is survived by her son, David M. Ross (Virginia); daughter, Peggy Ross Jennings (Richard); grandchildren, Josh C. Jennings (Kristy), Christy Bounds (Jeremy), Andi Ray (Curtis), Brian Ross (Leila), and Steven Ross (Leah), great grandchildren, Rileigh Bounds, Emmy Bounds, Elliot Bounds, Will Bounds, Finn Bounds, Kelsey Ray, Makenzie Ray, Brett Ross, Aaron Ross, Hana Kate Ross, Nolan Ross, Jack Ross, Madison Jennings, Mandalyn Jennings, and Naomi Jennings; and a sister, Jeanette Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Mitchel Ross; father, Floyd Jolly, mother, Leura Higgombotham Jolly, and 7 siblings.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS with the funeral service at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in the Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
