Willie Harold Green, age 92, passed away on June 30, 2022 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He was born on July 12, 1929 to James Lester Green and Gladys Grice Green in Soso, Mississippi. Harold graduated from Mississippi State College with a degree in Safety Engineering. He started his military career by joining the Navy Reserves at 19 years old. Later, he would have the experience of serving in the Navy, Army, and Air Force. He worked with USF&G, Masonite, Hood Industries, and he retired from University Medical Center as Safety Officer. Harold was the founding president of the Mississippi Society for the Prevention of blindness. He was a CPR instructor for many years and had the privilege of saving the lives of seven people that he randomly came upon. He was a strong Christian example to his family, as well as members of Sunday School classes he taught. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Frances Reynolds Green; Two Daughters, Karen Golden (Gary) of Ridgeland, MS; Peggy McIntosh (Woody) of Madison, MS; and Son, Michael Green (Sharon) of Madison, MS; three grandsons, Sam Green, Ben Elam, and Josh McIntosh. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lester Green and Gladys Eana Green, his brother James Eron Green, his sister Bobbie Laverne Valentine, and grandsons Corey Evan Ray and Michael Alan Green, Jr. Visitation will be Tuesday July 5, 2022 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church in Madison, MS from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow at 11:00 am, and interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
