Floyd Leon Porter, age 86, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 18, 2022.
He was born on August 25, 1935, in Mississippi, a son of the late Leonard Porter and Ruthie Mae Billings.
He loved his family and friends. He was a painter most of his life. He loved being with family and friends going out to eat fish with them. He loved traveling and sightseeing and especially when he would fly to California and later Nevada to visit his daughter and her family and stay months at a time and sightseeing while there. He enjoyed sitting outside in his chair smoking a cigarette and drinking a Pepsi while enjoying the weather and talking to neighbor friends. He loved country music. He really enjoyed going to a friend’s house in the country riding his four-wheeler.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard Porter and Ruthie Mae Billings.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Porter, one son, Brian Porter, one grandchild and one great-grandchild, one brother and one sister; he is survived by three daughters, Stacey Smith, Tracey King and Tammy Mendoza, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
