Rebecca Blocker Wade, 76, of Brandon, passed away on March 18, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Rebecca was born on May 28, 1945 to the late Clarence and Violet Ward Blocker in Edinburg, MS. She served 27 years with the Army National Guard and graduated from the University School of Nursing where she was a member of the University School of Nursing Alumni Association and she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a National Nursing Honor Society. She was employed by the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Hospital. Rebecca is survived by her husband Samuel J. Bryan Wade, Jr.; sisters, Beverly Malone and Joan Sanders, and brothers, Clarence Blocker and Carl Blocker. In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carnot Blocker and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ward. Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Brandon Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. A graveside service will be at 2:00 pm in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042 or UMMC School of Nursing.
