I’m so sorry to hear of John’s passing, deep condolences for his family.
John was one of my mentors early in my career at Vickers, in the 1980’s. He considered me one of “his” engineers and frequently took me on his business trips to help him deal with our customers’ engineers. He was a veritable font of knowledge, and was always cheerful and good-humored. He was a true gentleman and I’m very lucky to have known him.
