Steven Giles Thompson, age 64, passed away on August 16, 2021 in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on November 1, 1956 to Herbert Thompson and Bette Puddephatt in North Carolina. Steve was a man who wore many hats: a Navy veteran, an educator, a lover of science and technology, and most importantly, a devoted and loving father to his three sons. He enjoyed watching classic western movies and had a knack for giving his sons old Navy advice along the way. He was an avid reader and passionate tech enthusiast, and he was likely to build you a gift rather than go out and buy you one. Steve is survived by his three sons, Eric Giles Thompson, Logan Bradley Thompson, Brian Lee Thompson; Mother, Bette Grubb; Step-Father, Bill Grubb; Sister, Carol Crawford; Step-Sister, Deborah Hall; Step-Brother, John Grubb; Grandchild, Blake Thompson. All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday August 18, 2021 at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison from 10:00 am until 11:00 am and masks are required upon entry. A funeral service celebrating his life will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison at 11:00 am, followed by a private graveside service in Liverpool Baptist Church Cemetery in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
