Marcia S. Graves passed away at home on May 12, 2021 at the age of 69. Marcia was born on December 19, 1951 in Pensacola, Florida at the U.S. Naval Hospital. She grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, graduating from Callaway High School in 1970. She attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing catcher for the softball team in her younger years. She took classes at Hinds Jr. College, before working at Zinsco, L.M. Berry/Yellow Pages, South Central Bell/BellSouth in Jackson and Birmingham, Toys ‘R Us, and the Mississippi Department of Employment Security. Marcia had a kind and loving heart and freely shared it with her family and friends. Marcia cherished her nephew and niece, Michael and Grace. She spent her Wednesday afternoons with them for over 10 years, planning adventures such as trips to the library or museums, or art projects of various types. She attended their sporting events, and always had an icepack and band-aids nearby if they were injured. Marcia also dearly loved her family, her Callaway friends, the Chicago Cubs, Mississippi State University, history, photography, and art. Her faithful, generous and caring spirit will be missed immensely. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Olgia L. and Nadie S. Graves. She is survived by her sister Paula Graves Ardelean, nephew Michael Ardelean, and niece Grace Ardelean, along with many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A service will be held in the chapel at Broadmoor Baptist Church, 1531 Highland Colony Parkway, Madison, MS on Saturday, May 22, 2021, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League, msarl.org or another charity.
