Doris Powell, age 86, has been called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 23, 2021. She was truly loved by all of her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Maria (David) Martin of Madison, MS; sons, Billy Scott Powell of Brandon, MS, Joel (Wanda) Powell of Florence, MS; sister, Mary Jane Chandler of Parchman, MS; brothers, Bud Flemmons of Hernando, MS, Arvin and Marvin Flemmons of Drew, MS, and Don (Rose) Flemmons of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law, Ann Padgett of Hattiesburg, MS, and Freddie Ritter of Pearl, MS; grandchildren, Kriston Ann Powell of Pearl, MS, Hope (Jayce) Wright of Florence, MS, Tyler Martin of Flowood, MS, and Amber Martin of Madison, MS; great-grandchildren, River and Abram Wright, and many, many nieces and nephews. Doris is preceded in passing by her husband, Billy Powell; parents, Truman Flemmons and Dessie Green; sister, Vivian Brooks; brothers, Edmond and Johnny Flemmons; mother-in-Law, Margaret Powell; sisters-in-law, Louise Wilson and Catherine Miller; brother-in-law, Charlie Powell.
