Mickey Bethany Sullivan was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on September 14, 1926 to Alexander Bethany, Sr., and Mable Ruth Jordan Bethany, the youngest of four children. Her mother passed away when she was seven and she and her siblings were raised by their father, with help from aunts and grandparents and family friends. She finished high school at Tech High in Memphis and completed nurses training at Methodist Hospital in Memphis. She worked as an RN and retired as a nursing supervisor at Oakville Hospital in Memphis. She was also a realtor with her own company for a number of years. She was married to Thomas O. Sullivan for 54 years, until his death in 2008. They had 4 daughters. They moved to Madison, Ms in 1996 and were active members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She has resided at St. Catherine’s Village for the last 12 years where she enjoyed activities and made many friends. She excelled at Bridge and played often. She was a lover of life and lived life to the fullest, always looking for a fun adventure. She was filled with kindness and consideration and was at the bedside of many sick relatives over the years. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy and their daughter, Lisa Sullivan, her sister Ruth Ryan and brothers Alex Bethany, Jr. and Reece Bethany. Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her daughters, Bethany Lynn Sullivan of Wylie, Texas, Stephanie Lovelady of Madison, Mississippi, and Shari Bahner of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brandon Lovelady (Emily) of Starkville, Mississippi; Lauren Lovelady of Nashville, Tennessee; Stephen Lovelady of Oxford, Mississippi; and Evan and Eric Bahner of Plano, Texas; her great grandchildren, Jace Lovelady, J.R. Lovelady, Ben Pruitt, and Presley Pruitt. She is also survived by three nephews, three nieces, two sisters-in-law: Selma Bethany and Rose Lowery, and a brother-in-law Joseph Harold Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan participated in many charitable activities through Mother Cabrini Circle in Memphis and St. Catherine’s Circle in Madison. Memorials and donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
