Willie was married to Mary Elizabeth Jefferson (Gluckstadt, MS) from 1968 – 1982. Willie and Mary had three daughters: Zyndall Anderson (Cedar Hills, TX), Carisa Pope (Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, UAE), and Tamika Yates (Canton, MI).
Willie is survived by his devoted friend and former wife, Mary; his children Willie, Brenda, Zyndall, Carisa (Roy), and Tamika (Billy); one sister, Leaota (Nehemiah); six brothers, James, Ernest (Mary), Otis, Harrison (Betty), Robert (Betty), and Johnny Ray; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Willie will forever be loved, cherished, and remembered as Daddy, Granddaddy, PawPaw, Uncle Willie, Bruh, and Big Man; the avid fisherman who loved to “cut up”, tell stories, laugh, and make everyone around him laugh.
Special appreciation is extended to Willie’s Greenwood family, especially Nehemiah, Leaota, Kenric, and Sherron; his caring friends, Reakeisha Buchanan and Marquavius Buchanan; and his caretakers and medical team.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.
