Anne Durrett Randall has been my dear and precious friend since we were small children. We lived three houses from each other and from our early years playing paper dolls, rock school, hop scotch, and other games children did back then because there was no tv or computers. As we grew into our teen years she and our mutual friend Mary Claire Huff Harmon taught me, this younger friend, how to dance. As youngsters we had picnics in the heat of summer and thought nothing of the heat.
Being younger than Anne she and our friend Mary Claire were two of the best role models a young teen could have growing up. Anne has always been a part of her church and a believer from an early age. She never missed BTU or any church activity.
As adults we were part of each other’s wedding festivities and we had children around the same age and when we would visit our families during holidays we always had in-depth conversations on raising our children.
Anne was one of the most thoughtful, giving, and unselfish persons I have known. She always had others needs on her agenda.
She will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved her and left her grandchildren a beautiful legacy of putting others before self.
My husband and I will pray for comfort for her family and particularly Jimmy. May the God of love grant them peace and comfort.

I have some sweet memories of my dear Aunt Anne. Always a cheerful presence with a dose of reality. I’m sure she’s enjoying a reunion in heaven with her twin brother Charles and my mother Peggy.

Oh, how I’ll miss my sweet aunt! I look around my house, in my closet, and I see evidence of Anne, all sweet memories now of her love for me. She was my life saver when, for the birth of my first child, she gave me two months of diaper service! She did beautiful needlework and covered three foam blocks that my son had to have to hold when sucking his thumb and sleeping.....his favorite toy! She was the best cook and provided us with so many good things to eat when we all gathered. She always was my prayer warrior, too. Anne died on my birthday and it was the first I can remember that she didn’t call to have a long conversation and wish me a happy birthday. While super sad for me, I have joy knowing that she also will share my birthday as she was birthed from earth to her forever home in heaven.....a much more glorious birthday.!!! Anne was a blessing to me and to my whole family. I can’t imagine not having her here but will cherish her memory as long as I live. Thanks be to God for letting me be a part of her life! And more thanks for His love and provisions for Anne. I can imagine that she’s so happy reuniting with her old buddies and her family who went to heaven earlier.

Anne was a precious friend! We had Bible Study together. She was the sweetest and most caring person. She was witty and made all of us smile. I will miss Anne!
Comfort and love to sweet Jimmy!

Ann was such a special person. I remember when she was teaching me how to do the WMU Calendar. We had the most fun. She will be deeply missed.
