John Robert Tichy of Brandon, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at the age of 90. After several months of declining health, John died peacefully with family by his side. John was born in Joliet, IL on July 17, 1930, to father John and mother Pauline Kovalcik. The oldest of two children, John enlisted in the Navy at age 17. He was stationed in Philadelphia, PA where he met his beloved wife Vivian. They married in 1951. After his time in the Navy, John pursued a career as a semiconductor engineer. His work brought him to live in New York, California, New Jersey and finally, in his retirement, to Mississippi where he could be closer to his beloved son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by both of his parents and son, Steven Tichy. He is survived by his wife Vivian; son John Robert, sister Delores Tibble, grandsons Christopher and John, granddaughter Sarah and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service is planned for Thursday, November 12, 2020, 11am, at the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 51, Madison, MS. All are invited to attend.
