I just heard today about Brandon’s passing and I was just slammed by so many memories all at once. From the two whole days we “dated” in 7th grade (lol) to the last time I visited with him in Hattiesburg. We all change throughout life but what I remember most was his joviality, the way he could make me crack up with no effort. I fondly recall his great affection for his friends, whether he saw them every day or only once in a blue moon. Every hug he gave me, I felt for days. I’ll never forget high school choir; our ensemble for those 4 years was possessed of some kind of lightning, some power that made every song we sang click, every performance we gave magical, and Brandon was a part of that. I still think back fondly on those starched black uniforms and clowning around on the bus to competition, just soaking up that time and the people around me. It went by too fast. It all goes by too fast.
Like most people, I figured in the back of my mind that there would always be another time that I could turn a corner in life and bump into Brandon, and in no time we’d be talking and laughing all over again. The news of his passing reminds me that that isn’t always true, and it’s better to make time with those distant friends than to rely on happenstance. You never really know how much time you have.
I hope there’s good music and good people where you are, B. Maybe I’ll turn a corner in the future and you’ll be there. I’m glad I knew you, I’m glad we shared some of our time in this world as friends. Love to you.

Brandon was one of the most genuine sweet loving souls I’ve ever had the privilege to call my friend. He will be missed more than words can ever express. Prayers for Brandon’s family & all of his friends who are feeling an overwhelmingly devastating loss of a true friend. R.I.P. Brandon ~ You were deeply loved by many...
