Leon Williams, 95, of Ridgeland, passed away on October 14, 2020 in Jackson, MS. Leon was born in Simpson County on May 25, 1925 and was the son of Justin Williams and Sally Warren Williams. Leon joined the United States Navy and served at Guadalcanal in the Pacific theater of World War II. After his military service, Leon worked for and retired from Madison County Schools. He ran a farm during his working life and after retirement he continued to work his farm and raise his cattle. Leon is survived by his son Walter Williams and his wife Perri, grandson, Walter Brent Williams and his wife Marsha; great grandchildren, Ian Williams and James Williams; sisters, Selma Foreman and Sarah Sandiford. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Catherine Williams and a son, Larry Wayne Williams; his parents and five siblings. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2020 from 9:30am until 10:00am at Natchez Trace Memorial Park followed by a graveside service at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Madison United Methodist Church, 100 Post Oak Rd Madison, MS 39110.
