Jack Gardner 89, of Brandon, MS was called home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2017 in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5-7P.M. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home with interment following in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery located at 759 Hwy 51, Madison, MS.
Jack was born on July 3, 1928, in Drew, MS. Jack graduated from Itta Bena High School. He was an army veteran and served 18 months in Japan during the Korean War. He was a self-employed business man. Jack was an avid Ole Miss fan and loved flying his personal airplane with family and friends to football games. He also enjoyed building radio controlled airplanes, winning national awards for 3 consecutive years
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clyde & Emma Mae Ferguson Gardner.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Ann Tate Gardner; their three children, Betty Gardner Stuart (Jim) of Kemp, TX, Brenda Cress of Brandon, MS and Ed Gardner (Tanya) of Brandon, MS; five grandchildren, Michelle Brister, Meredith White, Connor Gardner, Erin Cress and Brandon Gardner; and four great-grandchildren, SPC. Blake Brister, Jack Brister, Bailey Billings and Davis Billings. Visitation will be held Monday, September 25 from 5-7pm at Natchez Trace Funeral Home, 759 Hwy. 51 in Madison, with services Tuesday, September 26 at 10am with visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39216.
