Martha Frances “Marty” Guinn was called home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2018, in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
Martha was born in Jonesville, Louisiana on February 26, 1945, the daughter of John Clarence Guinn, Sr. and Inez Pullen Guinn. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two sons, Jon Stephen Kennedy and his wife Farrah of Madison and Michael Scott Kennedy of Seattle, Washington; grandsons Wells and Graham Kennedy of Madison; and her brother, John Clarence “Johnny” Guinn, Jr. and his wife Toni of Libuse, Louisiana.
Marty graduated as salutatorian from Block High School and attended Louisiana College where her uncle Earl Guinn was president. She was crowned Miss Louisiana College her freshman year. Marty completed her education and graduated from Mississippi State University. She taught English until she retired. Marty was a beautiful and caring mother and Mimi. Most importantly, she was a faithful Christian and devoted her life to Christ. Her continual prayers and kind words for family and friends will be greatly missed.
A graveside service honoring Marty’s life will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Jena Cemetery in Jena, Louisiana, at 2:00 p.m.
