Obituary of Drew Traylor
Please share a memory of Drew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Drew Michael Traylor, age 6, went to his Heavenly home on October 27, 2018. Drew Man passed from this world at home, surrounded by his family.
Drew was born on November 8, 2011, in Flowood, MS, to parents James Michael Traylor and Angela Dickson Traylor. Drew was a sweet boy, maybe even the sweetest. He was a special boy who touched the lives of everyone he met. As many already suspected, Drew was the superhero, Drew Man. His superpower was to make everyone he smiled at instantly smile back, and at least for a moment make them cast their worries aside.
Drew graduated from The Little Light House Central Mississippi in 2016. He then attended Madison County Preschool, where he pursued his studies in smiles. At the time of his passing he was pursuing his doctoral degree in smiles at Madison Avenue Lower Elementary. Drew was a quick study.
Drew Man had many hobbies, including racing wheelchairs, hanging out with his big brother and little sisters, and teaching various medical providers at Children’s Medical Group and Batson Children’s Hospital. He also took dance classes at Vertical Church, where he was also a quick study.
Some may say that Drew Man’s life here ended too soon, but that is often the case for superheroes. What we know, though, is that his work in this life will continue, as all those touched by Drew carry on his legacy.
Drew is survived by his daddy, James Michael Traylor, his momma, Angela Dickson Traylor (who is also suspected of being a superhero), his brother, John David Hanbery, and his sisters, Ashlyn Michelle Traylor and Alyssa Katherine Traylor. Drew is also survived by his grandparents, Mike and Terri Traylor, and David and Judy Dickson. He is further survived by his aunts and uncles, Michelle and Brandon Guy, and April and John Wilson, as well as his cousins, Tyler Harrison, Grayson Guy, Mackenzie Wilson, and Kennedy Wilson.
Visitation is Monday, October 29, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Madison from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A service will follow on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Madison at 11:00 a.m., with the family receiving all of Drew’s friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Little Light House Central Mississippi and Batson Children’s Hospital. Each donation can support the next generation of superheroes.
