Steven Carter Hawkins

1959-2018

Steven Carter Hawkins died Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the age of 59. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m.

Steve was born on October 6, 1959, to the late Thad Hawkins, Jr. and Sarah Clinton Hawkins. A native of Jackson, he graduated from Wingfield High School and the University of Southern Mississippi. He served for many years in the automobile business in the Jackson area.

Steve loved family more than anything. He cherished time spent with his wife, Linda, and he was very proud of his children and grandchildren. Steve was outgoing, energetic and never met a stranger. His personality was infectious, and he had a knack for telling stories and making people laugh. He loved his pets and enjoyed playing golf, riding his motorcycle and taking trips with Linda in his convertible.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thad Hawkins, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Linda Bates Hawkins; children Hunter Hawkins (Samantha), Marlee McGowen (Payne) and Daniel McMullen (Elizabeth); his mother, Sarah Clinton Hawkins; brothers Scott Hawkins, David Hawkins and Rusty Hawkins (Kerri); and his four grandchildren.   

The family would like to encourage everyone who knew Steve to come to the visitation and share memories of him with each other. Steve will be missed by all who knew him.
