Obituary of Roy Eugene Lunn
Roy Eugene Lunn of Ridgeland, MS went to his final resting place on the morning of October 20th, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Eloise and children Deborah (Billy Posey), Maury, Barry, Cheryl Elise, and grandchildren Chris, Stephanie, Adam, Kristin, Shaun, Ross, Jake, Emily, Dara Michelle, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Roy was born in Tupelo, MS on May 12, 1928. His family migrated soon after to Yazoo County where he later graduated from Anding High School in Bentonia, MS. Early in his life, he served in Special Services of the United States Armed Forces, then taught barbering at Jackson Barber College. Later he was employed for over twenty years as a Capitol Policeman by the Mississippi State Police Commission.
Roy is best known for his musical talent and ability to play the pedal steel guitar. His love for country and western music propelled him to entertain in the music circuit for many years. He developed many special friendships along the way and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, October 22nd at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on Hwy 51 North in Madison, Mississippi. Funeral services will also be held at Natchez Trace Funeral Home on October 23rd at 2 pm, with graveside services immediately following in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
