Obituary of Jimmie Roger Morrison
Jimmie Roger Morrison, 79 of Madison, MS was called home to be with the Lord on May 08, 2018 in Jackson, MS with his family by his side. A visitation for Mr. Morrison will be held Friday May 11, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. with a graveside service honoring his life at 2:00pm in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery. Bishop Jerry Dillon will officiate the ceremony.
Roger was born November 01, 1938 to Roger & Effie Morrison in Attala County, MS where he grew up and graduated high school. Most of Roger's career was spent owning the Parkview Arms Apartments and other Real Estate Investments. After he retired he began working with his children, teaching them the skills necessary to be successful in business, as well as, in life. Roger was an the driving force behind the success of their businesses and the lessons he taught them will continue to be used each day.
Roger’s favorite sport was boxing, and his favorite past time was collecting antique cars, even retaining ownership of the very first new car that he purchased. He was active in the car hobby and enjoyed attending the car shows and cruise ins with his family and friends.
Roger is preceded in passing by his parents, a brother, Billy C. Morrison and a nephew, Jared Entrekin.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sheila Entrekin Morrison of Madison; daughter, Brittain Morrison and her fiancé Spencer Mills; sons, Anthony Morrison and his wife Alexa, Adrian Morrison and his wife Kaci all of Madison, Josh Siegal and his wife Susan and Joseph Buckhalter of Jackson; sisters, Gloria D. Sanders of Kosciusko, Julie Entrekin of Madison and Charlotte Young of Florence; brother, Lynn Entrekin of Madison and grandchildren, Ms. Emma Siegal and “Queen” Payton Siegal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Roger’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
