Leland David Harris, age 72, died peacefully at home on July 11, 2024 after an extended illness. He was born on August 24, 1951 to Leland Davenport Harris and Josephine Wall Harris in Newton, MS. He shared 49 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Carla Susan Harris. Leland made his home in Madison, MS and pursued a career in commercial fire protection as the owner of Hi-Tek Fire Sprinklers, Inc. for the past 31 years. Leland was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His kindness and generosity extended to everyone he knew. His passion was restoring classic and muscle cars, and he loved showcasing his endeavors at car shows he attended with family and friends. Leland’s many interests also extended to antiques and, particularly, his love of jukeboxes. He loved all things classic rock and liked to attend concerts with his family. Over the years, he greatly enjoyed traveling to various destinations, especially with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Leland was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Leland David Harris III "Trey". He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Susan Harris; daughter, Jessica Harris Tichy (John); son, Leland David Harris II (Jill); three grandchildren, Asher David Harris, Anders Kristopher Harris, Nora Leigh Tichy; sister, Dani Harris Smith (Gadsden, AL). Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, Mississippi from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A graveside service celebrating his life will follow in the Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.
