Darilynn Wade Wilson
February 2, 1952 - April 19, 2024
Darilynn (Dally) Wade Wilson was born on February 2, 1952, at the South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola, Mississippi to Hiram Darrington (Darry) and Juanita Holland Wade. Dally attended Ruleville High School in Ruleville, Mississippi and was Valedictorian of the 1970 graduating class.
She attended The University of Mississippi where she was a member of Delta Rho Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity serving as Panhellenic Representative of her pledge class, Pledge Trainer and 2nd Vice President. At Ole Miss, she was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society (freshman), CWENS Sophomore Honor Society and Mortar Board. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and was awarded the Taylor Medal in that school. She then attended Vanderbilt University and received a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology. While studying at Vanderbilt she served as Graduate Consultant to the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. She served on the faculty of Delta State University in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences from 1976 to 1980. She then attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she received her Doctor of Medicine and completed an anesthesiology residency. She was a board certified anesthesiologist and was especially fulfilled when treating infants and children. She was a member of Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson. She retired to Florida to be with her daughter and grandchildren and had only recently moved back to Madison.
Dally was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dee Wade. She is survived by her aunt Ann Holland, her sisters Suzanne Wade Phillips and Marilane Wade, her daughter Rebecca Wilson Szczepanski (Michael), and her grandchildren Jenny, Ollie, and Joy.
