Barbara June Hines Dumas, 80, of Brandon, departed this life on February 13, 2024. Visitation will be at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison on Monday February 19, 2024, from 12:00pm until 1:00PM with a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00pm. An ice cream social will follow. June was born on June 18, 1943, to U.B. Hines and Gertie Lee "Dot" Sullivan Hines. She graduated from Murrah High School and attended University of Southern Mississippi. She worked as an Administrative Assistant with EastGroup Properties. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson where she was active in the choir. She loved to play the piano, sing and eat Blue Bell vanilla ice cream. June is survived by daughters, Leslie Dumas, Shannon Dumas Newton (Chris), Elaine Dumas Schimpf (Chuck); grandchildren, MacKenzie Newton, Rhett Schimpf, Charley Schimpf, and brother, Fred Hines. She was preceded in death by parents and husband, Percy E. Dumas. The family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. Adele Thiel, Erica Jones, Arden Hospice, and the many friends and family members who prayed for her.
