The day I met Mrs. Wanda, she suggested we have lunch. I offered to take her to a restaurant. She said, “I have a better idea”. She then drove us to Piggly Wiggly, bought a bucket of chicken, then drove us to the state park where we sat under a tree and got acquainted.
I don’t remember breakfast this morning, but I’ll never forget our lunch together on that hot summer day some thirty odd years ago.
Mrs. Wanda showed me kindness and generosity that was pure. Through her kindness I made friends and memories that will last forever. And I, like so many others, look forward to seeing her again someday.
